A part time job is good for stay at home moms with school age children and high school and college students who may have some free time but do not need the income to survive. Some people with full time jobs that need some extra money can find part time jobs with weekend and evening hours so that they can make some extra money while not interfering with their full time job.

A part time job does come with flexible scheduling and less of a time commitment but they also do not typically come with benefits or much room for pay advancement. To start your job search first decide what type of thing you would like to do in your spare time. Do you like kids? Do you love fashion? Are you a book worm? After deciding what interests you start looking in your area, if you like fashion look for local retails jobs. If you like academics look into local tutoring companies. Tutoring can be a lucrative option but may require a certain level of acedemic acheivement so look into the qualifications that are needed. If you like kids then a daycare or as a babysitter are both good options. If you like people and a fast paced environment then maybe a server at a local restaurant would be a good fit.

After you have made your decision what field to work in start looking, fill out applications and set up interviews. Be sure before going in for the interview you know how many hours per week you can commit and which days work best for you. Make sure that the employer is willing to work with your schedule and is not expecting too many hours. A part time job can be anything less than 40 hours per week, while most require 10-20 hours per week, some will expect up to 35 hours per week.
