  • Dexter I've been a Trustmark customer for years. They've always been very nice, but I think that they're a little friendlier to their customers with more money. I've never gone into a branch and had a bad experience. The tellers are relatively friendly and so is the branch managers. The lines can tend to get long at times, but the waiting times aren't that bad. They do make sure you have all of your transactions completed within trying to rush you. added 2009-11-21
  • Dexter I've taken my entire family to this Dentist. Dr. Annie Taylor is a really good dentist. I can't say much for her husband who is also a dentist there at the office. They don't get many clients, but I take my kids because Annie is really patient and fun loving to the kids. They love going. Which is a lot to say because most kids hate going to the dentist. She makes them feel comfortable and relaxed. I really appreciate that. added 2009-11-21

City Spotlight

Jackson

While many feel you must travel across the border to enjoy yourself on vacation, that is simply not true. Right in the heart of Mississippi sits Jackson, a city full of history and music. In a city that has spent more time than anyone cares to remember recovering from Hurricane Katrina sits an amazing adventure waiting to happen.

Finding lodging should be the least of your concerns in Jackson. There are over five thousand hotel rooms throughout the city, from restored historic bed and breakfasts to extended stay facilities to properties perfect for the business traveler. There are also an abundance of restaurants with the city. Over four hundred rest within the metro area, ranging from traditional southern fare to Thai and everything in between.

You will find there is more to see than you will ever be able to see in a weekend, but try visiting some of these spots over a weekend for an unforgettable trip.

Mississippi Governor's Mansion - Take a tour of the historic Grand Antebellum Mansion House. This mansion is the second oldest continually-inhabited governor's mansion in the United States.

Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum - Sure to delight sports fans of all ages. With a high school gallery and a participatory room, you cannot go wrong.

Mississippi Museum of Natural Science - Explore the indoor and outdoor exhibits, including the endangered species of Mississippi and fossil gulch.

Jackson Zoo - A great place to spend a few hours with the family. The zoo opened in 1916 and is home to 776 animals, covering one hundred and twenty different species.

Russell C. Davis Planetarium - Go star gazing during the middle of the day, or sit back and blast off with large-format films.

Mississippi Forestry and Agriculture Museum - experience 'small town Mississippi.' Learn how agriculture molded the history and heritage the state of Mississippi.

New Stage Theatre - A great place to take in a show. This not-for-profit professional theatre produces five different shows a year. Make sure you get there to see one of these great productions.

Hilltop Painted Acres - Tour an old west town and sit back to enjoy a dinner around the campfire on the trail.

Spend a few hours soaking up 'Mississippi's Music.' Try the 930 Blues Café, George Street Grocery or many other local nightspots, all featuring the music of choice, the blues.

While these are just a few entertainment ideas for a weekend, there are many more activities and sites to see. There is nothing like a great weekend spent touring a city full of history and enough music establishments to get lost in. You may never want to go home.
