  • Melissa La Fiesta is my favorite Mexican Restaurant in McPherson. The restaurant looks kind of small from the outside but they have a plethora of seating. The food overall is very good, and what I enjoy most is the serving size. I do not skimp when it comes to eating, but I can come in here and fill myself up off of an appetizer of chicken nachos! The only negative thing about this place is the service. It's very spotty: sometimes the service is great, and sometimes you sit for ten minutes waiting on someone to come by for a drink refill. Other than that, I cannot complain and the food keeps me coming back! added 2009-11-22
  • Melissa By now all Wal-Mart Supercenters are pretty much the same except for where everything is located. The few times I've needed assistance from an employee they were plenty helpful in finding what I was looking for. The deli here is very good, but there has been more than one time that they were out of what I was looking forward to eating. My favorite thing about this store is the self-checkouts. Though annoying at times, it is such a convenient option when you only have a few items and there are eight to ten of them in the store, so I have rarely had to wait in line. added 2009-11-22
  • Melissa Located right next to the mall, this is my favorite spot to eat every time I go shopping in Wichita. The restaurant stays pretty full during normal meal times, yet I have always experienced really fast and efficient service here. The employees are all very helpful and have been quick to get anything we needed. This is one of my favorite places to eat due to the fact that my order is always right despite my quirky eating habits, and I have never been left thirsty and waiting for a drink refill (one of my pet peeves!) They are also well known for their amazing bar and selection of over one hundred different brands of beer. I highly recommend this restaurant! added 2009-11-22

Wichita

Wichita, Kansas, is sure to give any visitor a unique and memorable experience. With distinct entertainment haunts, local bazaars and great food, there is something for everyone in this good old Midwestern city.

Any visit to Wichita is incomplete without spending time in the Old Town District. What used to be an empty industrial town replete with run-down buildings and warehouses, the Old Town District is now an entertainment hub. It offers so many dining, shopping and recreation choices that one is sure to keep coming back.

The Old Town Warren Theatre is a famous haunt that melds dinner and a movie in one. You can have your meal served to you while watching a film, which is easy, because each seat is equipped with a service button.

Want a to watch a musical comedy? Head out to Caberet Oldtown, open year-round from Thursdays to Saturdays. Like the Warren Theather, it offers appetizers and a full bar.

The Old Town District is also home to the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame. It features a virtual exhibit, information on inductees and a gift shop.

If that's not enough, you can always head out to the Museum of World Treasures. This is surely going to be a hit for the kids. There are about eight exhibits that feature dinosaurs, Egyptian mummies and European culture.

You also don't want to miss out on the Old Town Farmer's Market. Open from April to October, it is dubbed as Wichita's Front Porch. Browsing through local artisan crafts and tasting the local delicacy cooked by Wichita's own talented chefs are great ways to spend a Saturday morning.

There are also a lot of great options outside of the old town. Kids and adults alike will surely love a visit to the Sedgwick County Zoo. With over 2,500 different animals from across the globe, it isn't hailed as the number one family attraction in Kansas for nothing.

For a taste of good ol' Midwestern hospitality, head for the Diamond W. Chuckwagon Supper at the Old Cowtown Museum. You're in for a treat with good barbeque, fine western music and a great show by the world-renowned Diamond W. Wranglers.

If you're lucky enough to be visiting during one of the city's festivals, you're in for a treat! Count on parades, concerts and tons of fun activities. The annual River Festival happens every May.

For wholesome fun and a taste of the old south, head out to Wichita, where good food, great festivals and endless entertainment happen year-round.
